Afandin has a strong national and international network of life science contacts. This stems from its partners', Ian Nisbet and Anthony Filippis, combined 30 years plus international business experience and credibility in dealing with pharma, biotech and investment organizations.
Afandin's mission is to help create companies that can successfully develop new products and technologies that improve health and quality of life.

Anthony has worked in business development his whole career, including time at the healthcare and life sciences practice at KPMG (including a secondment to the Science, Technology and Innovation Division of the Victorian State Government) and Biocomm, a private life sciences business development company, where he served as Vice President, Business Development. In more recent years, Anthony has utilized his detailed knowledge of the biotechnology and life sciences sector internationally and founded his own business development company in 2003. The company built an impressive client list and Anthony held a number of senior management positions within a number of ASX-listed biotechnology companies including, but not limited to:
- Vice President, Business Development at Select Vaccines Limited
- Vice President, Business Development at Premier Bionics Limited
- Head of Corporate Development at Meditech Research Limited
- Director, Business Development at Metabolic Pharmaceuticals Limited
Ian Nisbet (BSc, PhD, MAICD) - Partner
Ian is an experienced biotechnology executive, with extensive experience in Australia and the United States. As part of his consultancy business (now incorporated into Afandin) Ian works closely with a number of biotechnology companies, including ChemGenex Pharmaceuticals Ltd, where his role is VP of Oncology. In addition, Ian serves as a director of three biotechnology companies – Adipogen Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd (chairman), Velacor Pty Ltd (non-executive director), and Ambri Ltd (non-executive director).
